Condolences are pouring in for a Kelowna man who died in a crash Monday morning near the Apple Bowl. The victim has been identified as 32-year-old Marcus Audette. He was a resident of Kelowna for 15 years and was described by friends as the life of the party Eddie Hodgson has been a friend for many years. ”He was always a happy guy. He was very generous. I guess you could say he was the class clown. He always knew how to make people smile and laugh,” she said. Audette was extremely close to his sister Alaina McKilligan and the two lived together in Kelowna. “He saw the positive in everything. He saw the good when there wasn’t any and he was so funny. His laugh was contagious,” she told Castanet. McKilligan says her brother worked in concrete, enjoyed baseball, being with his friends, camping and fishing. Audette died on December 12, five years to the day his father died on December 12, 2017. He leaves behind three sisters, two nieces and two nephews as well as his mother. His family is hoping for support from the community with funeral expenses. At the time of the accident, there was another person in the vehicle. Police say the person, who has not been released, suffered serious injuries and was rushed to Kelowna General Hospital. Kelowna RCMP are continuing to investigate the crash and are asking the public to come forward with any dash cam footage that may help with the investigation.
