West, who was banned from Twitter for posting a Nazi symbol last week, called Musk a “genetic hybrid” and suggested he is “half-Chinese” on Instagram on Sunday. In the strange rambling post, the disgraced star also took aim at former president Barack Obama, referring to a baseless conspiracy theory that he is a clone of an Egyptian pharaoh. “Am I the only one who thinks Elon could be half Chinese? Have you ever seen pictures of him as a child? Take a Chinese genius and pair them with a South African supermodel and we have an Elon,” West wrote. “I say an Elon because they probably made 10 to 30 Elons and it’s the first genetic hybrid that stuck… Well, let’s not forget Obama.” He continued: “I’m sorry to use curse words in church, but I don’t have another word for Obama yet.” Hours later, Musk responded to a tweet where a social media account read: “KANYE WEST SAYS HE BELIEVES ELON MUSK IS A MICHEANESE ‘GENETIC HYBRID.’ “I take that as a compliment!” the tech billionaire replied. The back-and-forth continued as West, aka Ye, shared a screenshot of Musk’s response and claimed that his comments were always meant to be complimentary. “It was meant as a compliment, my friend now Obama on the other hand…” he wrote. The ongoing controversy comes after Musk banned West from Twitter for posting a Nazi symbol inside the Star of David, marking the latest in a growing list of anti-Semitic actions by the rapper. West posted the offending tweet Thursday night, then posted a photo of a topless Musk on a yacht, writing, “Let’s always remember this as my last tweet.” Musk responded to the image of himself by saying “that’s fine,” but responded “that’s not” to West’s tweet with the swastika. The disgraced rapper was then banned from the platform for violating Twitter’s policy against inciting violence, with Musk telling his followers: “I did my best. The story continues “Nevertheless, he again violated our rule against incitement to violence. Account will be suspended,” he tweeted, adding in a follow-up tweet that it had nothing to do with his photo on a yacht. Instead, he joked that he found the “unflattering” topless photo of him “helpful motivation to lose weight.” “Just clarifying that his account has been suspended for inciting violence, not an unflattering photo with Arie,” he tweeted. “Honestly, I found these photos to be a helpful motivation to lose weight!” Behind the scenes, the two men also appeared to be fighting, with West sharing screenshots of messages he apparently received from Musk via Donald Trump’s social media platform Truth Social. “I’m sorry, but you overdid it. That’s not love,” Musk apparently told him. “Who made you a judge,” West replied, before sharing a screenshot of his suspended account. But Musk had the last word, taking one last dig at West in his final tweet of the day. “FAFO,” he wrote simply, meaning “F*** Around and Learn.” On Sunday, Musk revealed that he wanted to “hit” West over the swastika tweet. “I personally wanted to hit Kanye, so that definitely incited me to violence. That’s not cool,” he said in a live Q&A on Twitter Spaces. The Twitter suspension came hours after West said “I like Hitler” and praised Nazis for doing “good things” in a disturbing appearance on Alex Jones’ Infowars show alongside White defender Nick Fuentes. Wearing a black mask over his face, West told the far-right conspiracy theorist that he saw “good things about Hitler” – who was responsible for the mass murder of an estimated six million Jews in the Holocaust – and claimed that the reason “you can not say [it] out loud’ is because ‘the Jews’ have told people not to. “I’m done with classifications. Every man has something valuable to bring to the table, especially Hitler,” he said. He continued to say “I like Hitler” even after Jones told him he was not a fan of the German dictator or the Nazis. West then went on to say that the Nazis “did good things too” and that “we need to stop bashing Nazis all the time.” West – who has a history of bipolar disorder – has recently spewed anti-Semitic comments and aligned himself with far-right figures and white nationalists such as Mr Fuentes. As a result, it has been dropped by several brands in recent weeks, including Adidas, GAP and Balenciaga. Last week, West and Fuentes dined with Trump at Mar-a-Lago, prompting several top Republicans to also condemn the former president for his association with the controversial figures.
