Police have seized five cars from the home where four University of Idaho students were brutally stabbed to death in a quadruple slaying that rocked the small college town of Moscow. A tow truck removed the vehicles on Tuesday — some believed to belong to the victims — and moved them to a “more secure long-term storage location to continue processing evidence,” the Moscow Police Department said. The development comes as the killer or killers are still at large 17 days after Madison Mogen, Kaylee Goncalves, Xana Kerndole and Ethan Chapin were butchered in their beds. On Wednesday, the Moscow community will hold vigils in honor of the murdered students, and some of the victims’ family members are expected to speak. The vigils were delayed until after Thanksgiving break as frightened students fled the city. Police call logs analyzed by The Independent reveal that, in the wake of the killings, local residents remain outraged and have called 911 numerous times to report “suspicious” men and other disturbing incidents in the area.

Former FBI agent says investigation should not be “hindered” by distance learning

Jonathan Gilliam, a former FBI special agent, said the investigation into the slayings of four University of Idaho students should not be hindered by the school’s decision to allow students to learn remotely after Thanksgiving break. . “I don’t think the investigation will be hindered as much as the school and the police department are in contact with the students and making sure they can call if they remember anything,” Mr. Gilliam told Fox News. “And I think that’s going to hinder things, is if they try to tone it down and not stay in touch with the students and try to get people to refresh their memory, that could be a problem because people might have seen something that was a bit out of the norm and they just put it in their brains and didn’t say anything about it.’ Rachel Sharp30 November 2022 11:50 1669807859

Neighbor hits out at Reddit sleuths who claimed his media appearances were suspicious

A neighbor of the four Idaho murder victims has blasted internet naysayers who claimed his media appearances were suspicious. In a recent interview, Jeremy Regan, a third-year law student at the University of Idaho, said he went to bed early the night of the murders. However, Reddit employees find his statements suspicious. Reagan addressed the online conspiracy theories about him and told Court TV on Tuesday that he “didn’t do it. I have nothing to hide. I’m willing to provide DNA, fingerprints… whatever they need.” In an earlier interview with Fox News, Mr. Reagan said: “I went to bed early that night” and “then a couple of hours later we got a message and there was a group of police here. And then that was the end of normalcy for the last week or so here.” The Independent’s Maroosha Muzaffar has the full story: Rachel Sharp30 November 2022 11:30 1669806649

Experts say law enforcement should not discount the “incel” angle.

Forensic psychologist Kris Mohandie told Fox News Digital that the nature of the slayings of the four University of Idaho students makes him believe law enforcement should look closely at the suspect as potentially “incel.” “There is a lot of hatred and anger that is demonstrated in these crimes – the level of violence, the determination, the obvious hostility in such a personal attack,” he said. “It’s a lot of tension. So it’s not inconsistent with someone who might have that kind of motivation. There is something hateful and full of rage about it.” Incel, or “involuntary celibacy,” refers to an online misogynist subculture of romantically frustrated men who can’t find a partner. The victim’s father reveals the chilling reason the family didn’t give her a funeral

The father of one of four University of Idaho students stabbed to death says his family won’t hold a funeral for her out of fear the “monster” who killed her will attend. Kaylee Goncalves was killed at an off-campus home in Moscow, Idaho, in the early hours of November 13, and police are still searching for the killer. Kaylee’s father, Steve Goncalves, says the family has yet to arrange a memorial service for their daughter. “My wife’s biggest fear, part of the reason we didn’t have a funeral, is because she couldn’t be guaranteed that this monster wouldn’t be there,” he told ABC News. Police seized five cars from the crime scene

Police have seized five cars from the home where four University of Idaho students were brutally stabbed to death in a quadruple slaying that rocked the small college town of Moscow. A tow truck removed the vehicles from outside the property on King Road on Tuesday — some of which are believed to belong to the victims — and moved them to a “more secure long-term storage location to continue processing evidence,” the Moscow Police Department said . . “Today, as part of the ongoing homicide investigation and initial search warrant, there will be increased detective activity and tows on the scene as investigators move five vehicles from the police perimeter to a more secure long-term storage location to continue processing evidence “, she said in a statement. The vehicles have reportedly already been searched by investigators, but will now undergo more detailed forensic analysis as the hunt for the killer continues. The vehicles include two sedans, a Jeep Wrangler and two SUVs that were parked outside the victims’ home the night of the murders, according to Court TV. Student urges university to do more to make campus feel safe

A University of Idaho student spoke about the fear gripping her peers in the wake of the killings two weeks ago. “There’s so much tension, there’s so much fear,” Megan Stanley told NewsNation as students returned from Thanksgiving break. “With a few weeks left in the semester and finals coming up, the campus should be full of students and really alive. And I feel like I only see a handful of students walking.” A fashion design student, Ms. Stanley said some but not all of her classes have been moved online, meaning she and many others can’t complete the semester at home. She said she and her peers “don’t really talk about” the killings because it’s so painful. “We all know this is happening, but we don’t really talk about it because for many of us it’s an emotional issue,” he said. “I didn’t know the victims personally, but many of my classmates who belong to the Greek system did, and it’s a really difficult topic to talk about.” Ms Stanley added that she wished more could be done by the university to make students feel safe. “Scott Green, our president and Dr. (Blaine) Eckles, the dean of students — I’ve seen them tear up in press conferences and everything. They feel the same pain as us,” he said. “But I don’t feel like enough is really being done to reassure us as students or even as a community.” Rachel Sharp30 November 2022 10:10 1669801800

University vigils will be held today

The small college town of Moscow is preparing to hold a vigil Wednesday in memory of the four victims who were killed in a brutal knife attack on Nov. 13. The University of Idaho will host the event on the Moscow campus at 5 p.m. local time on Nov. 30, followed by an event on the Boise campus at 6 p.m. The university will “honor the memory of Ethan, Zanna, Madison and Kaylee,” he says. People will also be able to participate in the vigil remotely. The vigil was originally scheduled to take place in the days after the killings, but was postponed as the town emptied, with terrified students picking up sticks and fleeing as the killer or killers remain at large. Several students returned to Moscow on Monday after Thanksgiving break. Rachel Sharp30 November 2022 09:50 1669800659

Victims’ neighbor hits out at Reddit sleuths

The neighbor of the four University of Idaho students who were murdered in an off-campus home on Nov. 13 hit back at Reddit employees who suggested his media appearances were suspicious. Jeremy Regan, a third-year law student, said he went to bed early the night of the murders, but Reddit commenters find his statements suspicious. “[It’s] irritating to be compared to a murderer when I did nothing,” Reagan told Court TV. 911 Call Logs Reveal Blood Stains, Knives, ‘Suspicious Males’ In Idaho City Student Murders

The Independent’s analysis of Moscow police call logs revealed several chilling complaints in the two weeks after four students were killed. On Wednesday, November 23, shortly before 9 a.m., the owner of a laundry in Moscow reported something disturbing: “A sign on [a] column inside that looks like blood.’ Although an officer responded, they did not file a report. It’s just one of several potentially disturbing but seemingly unrelated sights and sounds reported around town after the murders. One person reported a “suspicious vehicle in the parking lot,” along with “a person digging in the dirt.” Officers made contact with the subject but did not file a report. Another report said there was a person “standing at the cul-de-sac, wearing a large jacket and wearing a black ski mask.” Officers were unable to…
