Lock screen update
With iOS 16, users will now be able to add widgets to the lock screen and adjust the depth of field in the background images. A new collection of wallpapers and new animations have been added to iOS 16.
Live Activities
This feature allows users to pin widget-like alerts, such as live sports results from the Apple TV app that remain on the lock screen.
Apple Map
In the US, Apple will extend the ability to fly Apple Maps to new cities. Another transportation feature will allow users to plan transportation routes with pricing information and integration with Apple Pay. The map will soon show more countries.

The upgraded dictation will allow users to easily switch between typing and using the messaging app.
