The man was from Musquash, about 20 miles southwest of Saint John. The Grand Bay-Westfield RCMP, the Musquash Fire Department, the Ambulance New Brunswick and the Department of Public Safety responded to the incident shortly before 12:30 p.m. on the highway 1. Authorities believe the collision occurred when the tractor-trailer was traveling east and hit the motorcycle, which was parked on the shoulder of the highway. They then believe that the motorcycle hit the driver, who was standing next to her. The driver of the motorcycle was taken to hospital. He was later pronounced dead as a result of his injuries. The driver and the only passenger of the tractor-trailer were not injured. A RCMP collision reconstructor helps to investigate the cause.
