The accident happened at the intersection of Warden Avenue and Stouffville Road. Emergency crews were called to the scene at 08:45 Const. Amy Boudreau, a spokeswoman for the York Regional Police, said the two people who died were the driver and co-driver of the car, which was a Toyota Corolla. The relatives have not been informed yet. No ages were released. The medical examiner is at the scene. Boudreau said the driver of the dump truck was taken to hospital with minor injuries. No one has been arrested and no charges have been filed for the accident. “Right now, it’s too early to determine the cause of the collision,” Boudreau told reporters near the intersection. “We are asking the witnesses to appear. The investigators will look at the video, the dashboard camera, to fully understand what happened here today.” Anyone who has a video with a mobile phone camera or dashboard from the crash is invited to speak to investigators. “As we learn more, we will inform the community,” Boudreau said. Police have closed the roads in the area as police are investigating the accident. At the point is the investigative department of a major police clash. Warden Avenue, from Bethesda to 19th Avenue, and Stouffville, from Stalwart Industrial Drive to Kennedy, remain closed. Drivers are asked to wait for delays and follow alternative routes.
